Haus Walch

Haus Walch

Out and about in Nature, hiking and experiencing the landscape to your heart’s content!

Our house is an ideal starting point for numerous wonderful hikes and mountain trails in the Lechtal and Allgäu Alps. The diversity of paths and steep tracks provides a special experience for the whole family, past gushing mountain streams and beautifully-scented mountain pastures up to the alps and mountain chalets.

Discover the Lechtal, with a bike tour along the Lech River, and in the process explore the diverse and unique landscape of the Lech Valley. Mountain-bikers can explore the untouched natural landscape of the region on two wheels on wonderful panoramic paths and go on tours of the Alps with their beautiful scenery.

Numerous activities and attractions are available in order to make your holiday as varied as possible. The repertoire is as diverse as the natural surroundings of the region. You can get really close to the Lech on a rafting or canyoning tour.

Bathing fun is also to be had thanks to the open-air pools and small natural bathing lake and, to round off an eventful day, you can go on the Wally Blitz summer toboggan run in Elbigenalp.

The Holzgauer Hängebrücke (hanging bridge) is not only a spectacular tourist attraction, but also Austria’s longest, highest pedestrian hanging bridge, and accessible free of charge!

However, not only the breath-taking scenery and numerous activities draw guests repeatedly to the Lech Valley. Tradition and customs are affectionately lived out here. The Wunderkammer (Cabinet of curiosities) a newly-built museum in Elbigenalp, provides insight into the lives and work of the Lechtal population over the last century and the "father of the Lechtal" Johann Anton Falger, and Anna Stainer-Knittel – better known as "Geierwally". And therefore the Geierwally Freilichtbühne (open-air stage) is also a special highlight during the summer months. Year after year, renowned Tyrolean directors and theatre producers present either new stage plays or plays already known beyond Tyrol’s borders using native lay actors and actresses. Let yourself be enchanted by such plays under open skies and at the foot of the rocks of the Bernhardstal gorge in Elbigenalp. It is well worth making an advance booking!
